About me
My name is Jiyoung Park. I am a Postdoctoral Associate jointly affiliated at Boston University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), mentored by Yves Atchade and Rahul Mazumder. My current research interests include (but are not limited to) algorithmic statistics, statistical learning theory, approximation theory, optimization theory, and optimal transport.
I completed my Ph.D. in Statistics at Texas A&M University, advised by Anirban Bhattacharya. During my Ph.D., I completed a concurrent dual-degree program, earning a Master’s degree in Mathematics under the guidance of Jonathan W. Siegel, and worked closely with Stephan Wojtowytsch. I did my undergraduate studies at Seoul National University, where I double majored in Economics and Statistics, with a minor in Computer Science and Engineering. After graduation and prior to beginning my Ph.D., I worked as a Research Resident at KC-ML2, conducting research on graph neural networks and reinforcement learning under the supervision of Chan Y. Park.
